The Next Super Cycle of AI, Culture and Markets
I read a Tweet from Signull that really clarified things for me.
“there are two kinds of people:
the ones who understand how the internet + technology + culture actually move.
& the ones who are about to get dragged behind it like a tin can tied to a tesla.”

Adapt or Die. I think this has always been true. When you look at successful people no matter what the industry they are in, it’s the ones who get the zeitgeist of the times who do well. They understand the market they are in. I might add those who have the foresight and have the courage to take some action, will do well.
Jesse Walden wrote about Crypto but I believe it applies to almost everything. Especially in the Age of AI where you have access to literally the world’s best thinking machine. Coupled with your special cultural knowledge, it gives the high agency aka Live player even more power and leverage.
He wrote: "The adage “invest in what you know” is increasingly possible today. As a result, market participation is no longer a specialized profession. It's a mass-participation culture with its own status games, memes, heroes, villains, subcultures and language. Because of their newfound expressivity and accessibility, financial markets are increasingly intertwined with culture. And culture, from trends to events to political outcomes, is increasingly expressed through markets."

If you understand the trends around you, it acts as a road map for where to go. This is why I’ve gotten so deeply into geopolitics, global macro and tech trends. And as the old saying goes: “History doesn’t repeat itself, but it does rhyme”, it pays to study history. Use pattern recognition and you get a sense of how people will act. Humans have changed, but at the same time, not really.
Staying relevant is a challenge these days. It’s really true. Our habits can aid or hinder us. But, all you need to do is pay attention to what is around you. Really pay attention. Have a thirst for knowledge, a true curiosity. Position yourself in front of the wave. Combine all of this with courage and agency, you will probably be okay. More than okay I believe.
