Health, Wealth & Fame: The Surprising Wisdom of Logan Paul

I actually didn’t know anything about Logan Paul, except for being a massive Youtube influencer, consumer products guru and apparently WWE wrestler. And brother of also massive influencer, boxer and investor Jake Paul, who runs Anti-Fund with my friend Geoff Woo. So when I stumbled upon an interview he did with Iced Coffee Guys I figured, why not? You can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nuea3ejCPI0

I liked his ideas on the importance of fitness and it’s made a huge difference in my life in recent years especially during the hard times. “If you are not taking care of yourself, how can you take care of something else? Your body is your temple. This is the one vessel you have” “Treat it like a temple, why would you not? If you don’t have the discipline about the thing that’s powering your entire existence on this planet, how can you expect to have discipline anywhere else?”

Logan talks about why most people are haters and why most people are losers. These are my words but it’s kind of true.

“The only way they make themselves feel better is by pretending that everything is happening to them, that the world is happening at them, that life is just serving them situations, instead of becoming an adult, grabbing life by the horns, and taking charge of their own life” “It’s difficult to manifest your own reality, take action, find motivation, and do things that compel you. It’s much easier to place blame on other people and make yourself a victim of life”

Ditch the victimhood, take charge. Have deep personal ownership for everything that you do.

However, I found myself really impressed with his mindset and he articulates it well.

Logan also talks about the importance of picking your path. Hard work is important but finding the right thing that fits your personality and skillset is pretty critical.

“Celebrities, influencers, and all these motivational speakers tell you that you can do whatever you put your mind to. We are all equal. I’m gonna be honest, that’s not true. I’ve tried to do things and worked really hard. I will immerse myself in a project or an endeavor, go all in, and I found that no matter how all in you go, sometimes it just doesn’t work”

“‘Work hard and you’ll win no matter what’ doesn’t always apply. What I think can apply is finding what makes you tick. Find the thing that makes you want to get out of bed every morning, even if it’s something that you wouldn’t consider for one second to be a viable business opportunity. Because if you do what you love every day, you won’t need to work a day in your life”

And of course, if you want to get anywhere, you gotta have goals. A north star even. Logan says:

“Being goal-oriented really helps… Having goals that you write down on a paper, and when you achieve them, you can cross them off the paper. Something about that to me is deeply fulfilling.”

It was an interesting interview. How to live a polyglot life. And what makes an accomplished young man tick. I learned some good stuff here.
