Be Grateful: Health is Wealth
I’ve already written previously that Q1, this year was a relatively quiet start to the year. Lots of small setbacks and the usual challenges on the personal finance side. Incredibly frustrating to say the least. Anyone who tells you real estate investing is great passive income is lying to you. But the reality is this is the nature of the beast. There are always setbacks and challenges in whatever you do. That’s life and you just gotta deal with it. I’m told challenges build your character.
However, every time I start moping and feeling “woe is me”, I just need to look out the window. I have a neighbor across from me who is my age, who suffers from obesity and severe diabetes. To the point she can’t walk at all, completely immobile and needs to have people in a special van pick her up and bring her to the doctors almost every other day. I pray all the time at mass that she gets better but it seems to be getting worse.
And it’s a reminder that you should be grateful for what you have. Health and mobility. A brain, resources/ assets, a network who can help you. As the excellent Naval quote goes: “A healthy man wants a thousand things, a sick man only wants one”. It can always be worse. So take care of yourself. Exercise, sleep well, have a good diet, take supplements, do the biohacking basics.
Health is actual wealth. It allows you to play at your best in the game of life. Whatever challenges you have they can be overcome. It might take some time and work but you will conquer it as long as you keep trying. Blessed are the healthy. Remember this.
